Mega Dams and Other Infrastructural Works

These projects include hydro dam and road projects among others. The resulting deforestation is not only inside the area needed for the dam or the road, but also outside because of related phenomena like internal migration, industrialization and urbanization in and around such projects that drive deforestation even further. Only in the Amazon region, more than 400 hydro dams exist or are planned.
