The World Rainforest Movement (WRM) bulletin has been published monthly since 1997 and is currently distributed in four languages: Spanish, English, French and Portuguese.
The bulletin is intended as a tool to support the struggle of peoples defending their lands and forests from commercial logging, dams and other infrastructure, the extraction of oil, gas and minerals, industrial monoculture tree plantations, shrimp farms, agribusiness and all the other projects that threaten them. Among those are also more recent initiatives such as forest carbon projects or REDD (Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and forest Degradation) activities or more generally, initiatives that aim at putting a price on forests through so-called payments for "environmental services".
On the one hand, the WRM bulletin is intended to give visibility to the voices of the many resistance struggles. Therefore, in each edition of the bulletin we try to invite different people and allied groups to contribute articles or relevant information. On the other hand, the bulletin aims to be a tool to inform the people who depend on forests about international plans and initiatives dealing with forests and that might affect them by warning of the risks and impacts on their lives.
The bulletin subscription is free. To subscribe, enter the following link and follow the subsequent instructions: http://eepurl.com/8YPw5
