Mangrove peoples and communities have a close bond with mangroves, fishing and the seas. Mangroves and the seas are wholly interconnected natural elements, as is the life of marine coastal peoples. That is why this July 26 the slogan for the celebration of International Day for the Defense of Mangrove Ecosystems is: Mangroves and the Sea.
